Reinforcement Steel

Reinforcing steel

Reinforcing steel, (usually called rebar and mesh) is made from a raw material called iron ore. It is used in concrete to provide additional strength, as concrete is weak in tension and steel is strong in tension and compression. This makes steel and concrete like a gin and tonic; they are incredibly effective together and go hand-in-hand!

Concrete reinforcing steel is available in diameters of 8 up to 40mm, in straight bars of 12and 14m and in bundles weighing about 2tn.

Concrete reinforcing steel is also available in standard coils in diameters of 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm, as well as in spooled coils in diameters 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20mm.

Wire mesh

Wire mesh sheets are manufactured from welded transverse and longitudinal wires cold-drawn from SAE 1010 wire rod. The diameters of the wires range from Ø4.0 to Ø10.0mm in 2.15×5.00 or 2.15×6.00m external dimensions.  Other sizes and configurations can also be produced upon request.
